My so-called Helper

April 17th, 2009

I am a full housewife with three kids. I do not have a helper so I do all the household chores alone. We have a big house  with five rooms and it is really hard me to clean all those room, and having a vacuum cleaner  is really a big help for us housewives who does not have a helper in their house. But right now, I am having some problems with my vacuum, and I do not know what to do. So I bring the vacuum to the nearest shop in our vicinity. They do not have some vacuum spares with them, and they told me that I need to order that first in store or online for them to fix my vacuum.

So that day I went straight to the store, to buy the spares that they need. I find dyson spares and miele spares a good option because they have the quality spare that I am just looking for. My vacuum is my helper and I cannot afford to lose it. After some time comparing which is the best, I already found what I am just looking for. So I bought it and went back to the shop and it took them an hour to fix my vacuum. Well, it is all worth the wait. I will be coming home with my vacuum or my so called helper. Tomorrow, is just another day and we will be having a tons of work to do.,,, again.

Sending your Child to School

April 14th, 2009

Parents today have an array of choices when deciding where their child should be during the day while they are working. I think preschool seems like the natural, more responsible decision because their toddler will be in a learning environment all day, any way children are going to school earlier and earlier each year.  And while many children learn manners in the home, preschool teachers also are responsible for teaching and reinforcing manners in school.

As young as 2 years old, children can learn the basics about manners by being taught to say “Please” and “Thank you” when appropriate, even if they do not understand the reasons for being polite. Preschool is the preparation of a child for kindergarten. They learn to cut with scissors and write their names along with color, number, and shape recognition.  But, day care versus preschool is a common debate in many households. So I urge parents to use both day care and preschool as they were intended, daycare is to care for the child while their parent or guardian is unavailable and preschool is something that should be grouped with education rather than childcare.

Trying a New Look

March 16th, 2009

As I have redecorating the house, I thought of many things to follow that style and fashion at home. There are new furnitures that I have built, bought and recycled to make it more unique and stylish as well. Adding some totally great looking ceiling fans in the living room, dining room and even the bedrooms can add a spice and probably make the room look elegant even if it is a small room

But before considering any ceiling fans to put in those rooms, you have to think of the personality of that room first. Yes, every room has its own personality and character as well as the person or people living in it may put. Modern style, contemporary or even classic are the basics. We can choose minka aire fans for the living room and the casablanca fans in the dining room or the bedroom depending on your taste.

I myself like to mix and match decorations, appliances and furnitures, too. I like some adventure so I do this but it is still up to the person in charge of the decorating to put his thoughts and style in the flesh.

House Re-decoration

March 8th, 2009

As a house wife, I have lots of time to attend to the fixing and designing needs that my house calls for. I choose what goes where, which gets picked as decoration and which gets to be thrown away. And as the wife of an executive officer, I take care of all the preparations needed for his almost monthly gatherings for his office friends, held mostly at home.

Because of the usual parties and gatherings and all, our stuff has started to wear out, especially the furniture. Our furniture, which are all Romanesque-themed, seems to need some replacing. After all, it has been quite a while since we have seen a change of pieces in our house, so we wanted a change in view.

So one Sunday afternoon, my husband and I - who has fortunately saved enough - went looking for those perfect modern furniture pieces to put in our newly-renovated home at the local depot. Our first stop was in the third floor of the depot, the perfect place to look for modern bedroom furniture. After that, we went down to the lower floors to look for modern patio furniture for our patio area, which we are also planning on changing.

Now, we are planning on putting on another party, and I am so excited to have people see the change in ambience that has happened in our house.

Baby’s First Birthday

February 17th, 2009

I cannot believe it’s been a year already. Time sure does fly fast. My little boy just recently celebrated his first birthday last December 30, 2008. Arriving at this day marked as much of a milestone in parenthood as it did with our baby’s growth.

I planned a blowout for his first birthday. After much hard work and planning with the help of my sister, cousins and our party planner, we got everything setup early. We crossed our fingers that my son would not be too scared by the celebration chaos, picked up booze along with the juice boxes, and invited a crowd of family and friends. All in all we had a blast! Maybe it was that first taste of chocolate cake that helped put the birthday boy in rare party form, he loved every minute. And I had to remind myself that these are the times when I just smile and enjoy it. Because they grow up so fast.

Next birthday I want to give him a themed birthday party. Probably like a Sesame Streets’ party with tons of decorations and noise makers. I always dreamt and plan this all year long. Being all out is what matters because he won’t remember it today but he will when he saw the tapes. Next year, all out is going to be my theme again and I won’t have to worry because I have the best party planner ever!

Stay-at-Home Moms Community Service

February 11th, 2009

Being a stay at home mother makes me do things beyond what I know I can do. I go places and experience new things as part of my everyday discovery. I sometimes get bored with what I do routinely so I find things to do on my own or with the help of my friends in the neighborhood. We have this weekly activity where we do handicrafts to sell in the market for extra profit, to help those in need and donate to the church. We also have this weekly cooking. We find good things in what we do everyday and we feel that we are contributing a lot to the community even in the midst of crisis.

As part of this project, we are helping some neighbor that needs Commercial Mailboxes to attract more clients in their respective businesses. They are the ones who get more of our help first rather than the outside sources. Since they cannot at the moment provide for themselves such, we are helping them raise money to buy a Commercial Mailbox. It is a little expensive for starters like them so helping hand in hand would make it easier for them to buy Commercial Mail boxes. When they recover from the business, they get the money back to us and we do the same for others as if it was a cycle so that we can help more people in the end.

Fashionable Working Space

February 9th, 2009

When I was once at a mall, looking for something to spice up my office and home a little bit, a certain designer coat and hat stands suddenly caught my attention! It was elegant and the cut was done in a fine way. It is going to be a good accessory in that room. I was pretty sure that it was made by one of the best designers in the whole country… The designer was successful in making the product stand-out among others. It was not the typical designer coat and hat stands. The design lay-out was different, plus the add-ons.

I guess a new reception table will also fit the new office. I should run a test on it and maybe lots of clients and possible partners will be caught in this trap and they would love to work with us. Reception table is the first thing they will see, anyway. This is where they first transact business deals etc. And believe me, base on my experiences, an office is not good if the reception area especially the table is not good looking at all. I chose the products to buy base on the quality and the quantity it might give me like for example the umbrella type designer coat and hat stands, because I might also buy one for my home.

I love fashion. I believe that the way you dress up not just yourself but also your place whether it’s the office or home makes an impression on others for these maybe an extension of your personality. What you wear reflects on how you think and what your social standing is, same goes with your work space. If you want to stand out in the crowd and attract more people, then designer accessories are the best product options for you!  Another good thing about designer products is that they give you their guarantee of authenticity and quality.

Kissing Your Kids on the Lips

February 4th, 2009

I took this survey in an online site where there are lots of mommies who commented and leave their opinions about kissing their children on the lips. Lots of opinions have been raised and they were both in the yes and the no sides. Why do we need to ask this question?

I myself answered yes because it shows that I love and care about my son. It will make him feel that he is loved and learning to kiss me and the rest of the people around him will make him show how he love them as well.

Of course, I respect the opinions of those mothers who said no, but they still do kiss them on the cheeks. Dads mostly are the ones who kiss them on cheeks especially if they have sons. They have different reasons and they are the ones who only knew why they do such. But either way, kissing them on the lips or not, just as long as we make them feel loved and cared so much, no answer can be wrong nor right.

A Cheaper Way to Add Charm for Your Home

January 22nd, 2009

I am looking for ways to add charm and warmth to all the rooms in my home, but I do not want to spend thousands of dollars. I have learned from a friend that Area Rugs can add an extra flare to any room at home, without costing a fortune. She also used area rugs in her home, and this was due to the advise by a professional interior decorator. It is available in a wide variety of floral and tapestry designs and these Rugs are smaller and more affordable than a standard, larger rug, and can really bring out the style of any room, she said.

Area rugs looks great in smaller areas, like in front entryways and bathrooms, or even corners of a room that I wish to add more charm to, she added. But of course, I have to make sure that I have chosen the right shop where I can get the product for good design, price, size and quality. There are really many benefits that I can take advantage of when I add an area rug into a room at home, I thought. So I went online to look for the perfect area rug for my home. It was also advised by a friend because they offer much cheaper and more quality I guess…

Glass Furniture

January 16th, 2009

Do you know the major advantage of glass furniture? It is not only the most progressive, up-to-date and stylish decor solution; it is its magic transparency that allows your guests figuratively to see you through. Your most precious photographs or memorable things are always handy to look at without opening cupboards or cabinets. Moreover, they will never get covered with dust behind the glass. Thus, decorators and furniture manufacturers all over the world have drawn their attention to it and made glass furniture their major trump card.

Glass possesses a wide range of physical characteristics not found in any other substance. This modern furniture can be transparent, translucent, or opaque. It can be made in a variety of fascinating colors and thickness. It is highly appreciated for its durability and heat safety. This makes it an outstanding material which is intensively exploited in modern furniture production.

The brightness of glass will visually make your kitchen more clean and sparkling. Glass furniture is easy to clean and look after. It is perfectly practical for every day use, not to speak of its elegant and contemporary furniture look, and remains as beautiful as the day it was purchased. Glass is also scratch resistant, which makes it an excellent material for bathroom wall tiles, kitchen wall tiles, vessels and bar counters.

Designers adore the versatility of glass and consider it the primary material for home when the main purpose is to surprise, to astonish and to instill a real stroke of creativity and modernity into your decor. Basically, glass is used in the majority of our production, including glass coffee tables, glass TV stands, glass desks, glass kitchenware, glass vessels and glass bar units.

Glass provides beauty and functionality that is not possible with other materials and thus has carved its legal place in the hottest trends of modern design.
